This Svetlana, she is from Ussurisk. She attend the Temple for the first time in her life. She has never been out of Russia. Allie and I and the Sartori's took the group to "On The Border" a mexican restaurant (Chiles and Macarroni Grille owned restaurant). Russians don't like really spicey food but they had no problem giving it a shot. They were so excited to go out to eat that we could have fed them anything and they would have thought it was fantastic. To Svetlana's right is Nina she too is from Ussurisk. Russians don't like ice in their drinks. So we got them alcohol free drinks that were all ice. Guess what....they loved them. We went home stuffed and happy. It is so great to share an experience like this with these wonderful people. They may never be able to make the journey to the Temple again in their lifetime because of the expense. And probably will never eat out like this again either.
This is President and Vera Zviagolski. They were the interpreters for our group. They are our great buddies here in Russia Far East. President Zviagolski is the 1st counselor in the Mission Presidency. Vera serves as the Visa Clerk in the Mission Office. This means she knows and can do anything. She holds the whole mission together.
Just a little picture for our photo albumn. The man in this picture is Stanislov. He comes from Khabarovsk Russia. He is one of the most humble and kind men I have ever met. It was an honor to be with him as well as the rest of the group. Stanislov didn't take second place at "On The Border" either. He just about licked his plate clean.
All of the Temple workers love the Saints from Russia. They all came out on the lawn for a group picture. We only came with three people on this trip but that didn't matter. The Temple workers helped us every step of the way. They had food prepared for us so we didn't have to go shop. They had our days in the Temple all planned so we didn't have to try to figure anything out. We felt nothing but kindness and love from these fine people. They wouldn't even let us pay for the food that they had purchased and prepared.
This was on the day of our arrival at the Temple. Svetlana on the left and Nina on the right. Svetlana was sealed to her deceased husband by proxy and it was the highlight of her experience. They have two children and he died when he was 28 years old. Hurray that Families are Forever!!!!

You guys are the best! You were always so great about taking us out to eat when you visited us at college. Now you are extending the same kindness around the world. No wonder everyone loves you. You guys are so nice. I'm glad to see that you got to treat them to a little taste of America.
